Daniel Castan

While killing time in the West Village last week before a workout, I stumbled upon the work of DANIEL CASTAN in the CARRÉ D'ARTISTES NYC. Daniel uses quick-drying acrylic paint to make textured paintings from memory. What I love about his work is how the layered technique and colors used make the abstract paintings of the city come alive.

Lucky for us locals, Daniel will be in NYC at the CARRÉ D'ARTISTES painting, signing and discussing his technique on November 29th and 30th from 12PM to 7PM. The pieces are pricey, but good art is worth the investment, no?

Make: Pecan Pie

While Pumpkin Pie and Apple Pie are certainly staples for Thanksgiving, another popular pie in my family is Pecan Pie. Over the past few years I've tried a few recipes that include molasses, chocolate, bourbon, but the one I keep coming back to is a simple recipe that doesn't sacrifice on taste and certainly sugar. When I make this, it always goes very quickly in my family.
