Weekly Roundup: October 10, 2014

I've got the perfect long, fall weekend lined up and I couldn't be more excited. I'm heading back home to CT today and plan on spending some time with friends, family and my dog. CHOWDER FEST on Saturday followed by some time at the vineyard. What could be more perfect? Fattening food and booze, sign me up!

Elements of Style NYC Book Signing

I LOVE the ELEMENTS OF STYLE BLOG so when I heard Erin Gates would be in town signing her book - ELEMENTS OF STYLE - I jumped on the chance to attend. I know, 2 book signings in one week. Wow. But this was different. Erin has taken her blog so far and she serves as such an inspiration to me and meeting her was the icing on the cake. She is so down to earth and so gorgeous (that outfit was amazing!) and her husband, Andrew, is a riot.

The Kitchn Cookbook Signing

It's hard to pinpoint when my cookbook obsession started, but it's safe to say that when I graduated and started working at a small publishing house things really got underway. I was mesmerized by the amount of work that went into producing a cookbook - the writing of original recipes, recipe trials (yum!), and of course the photos that looked good enough to eat. Months later when the book was finally published, I loved flipping through the pages to admire the work. It was during this time that I became a fan of the blog THE KITCHN, so when I heard the cookbook was going to be released with a launch party in NYC, I jumped on the chance to attend.
